Glashütte a symbol for costly and extravagant watches

Some of the most known clocks are made in Glashütte, a little town in Sachsen, Germany.
The town has only a population of 4,700 residents and most of them are employed in the watch-manufactoring industry. One of these well known companies around the globe for example is A. Lange & Söhnle Uhren (Uhren means watches in German). All these companies have in common, that they produced for the former USSR and now they are producing very price and extravagant mechanical watches of high quality with the label Glashütte Uhren that have a good reputation around the globe among enthusiasts.
